We were brought into this world in the comfort and safety of our mother's womb... And sometimes in our twilight years...there are moments where we crave the same comfort and safety again...the maternal 'protection' we once experienced... That 'feeling' that we are a cherished child and not a burdened 'adult'..
“Stork” is also known as bird who delivers baby, it is an analogy to our design such as our client will feel the warmth and safety inside this “craddle”. This furniture is design to let our client snug in comfortably while maintaining privacy due to his introverted personality. The furniture can be used for physiotheraphy as it is a flexible, hammock kind of chair which allows our client to “wriggle” or snuggle inside the womb.
Currently 75, Mr. Lei was an ex-lorry driver. His wife left him with his 5 childrens who are currently at work. He is an uneasy man who doesn’t like to live in the elderly’s home, probably because of his introvert and hot-tempered personality, he couldn’t find peace in mind watching TV and sleeping routinely. He is a smoker, the home warden would occasionaly bring him out with a wheelchair and let him smoke at the balcony. When he smokes, he seems calmer, apparently due to lower stress and noise from the surrouding. He had a wish, that is to go home. He was in the elderly home for 2 months and decided this place is not just for him, he is sent here due to his disabilities. An accident that happened 3 years ago paralysed the right side of this body, he seems traumatized by the incident and gets emotional when he mentions about it. His body is covered with injuries, his arm is deformed and he doesn’t like people to look at it.
